The Basics to Solid Ball Striking

No matter what your swing is like, you can usually manage to make it around the course in halfway decent shape if you remember the basics. Pretty much the fundamentals (that are easily forgotten about), that result in solid contact. Here is a list of things to remember:

  • Proper alignment at address

  • Lock eye on ball through contact

  • No head movement whatsoever through swing

  • Lead arm (left arm for right handed player) firm throughout swing

  • Slow back swing

  • Strike down/stay down through impact/contact

Those are some of my keys to success in my better rounds. When I remember to do all of the above with my swing, I usually walk away feeling good about my ball striking.
